2009 Chrysler Town & Country Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Intake Manifold for Upper on 2009 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Take off the protection from the lower air intake manifold, then clean the gasket areas. Check the gasket on the manifold; you may reuse it as long as it is not damaged. Lay gasket 6 in the seal channel and press down gently, then do the same for each other gasket location. After that, fit the upper manifold 4 onto the lower manifold. Use Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive (Medium Strength Threadlocker) to glue each bolt, then put them in and tighten them to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.), in the sequence shown in your vehicle manual. It is important to connect the composite manifold components with special screws at a slow pace, using only hands, as this prevents melting the material and helps preserve the threads; however, an oversize repair screw is on hand if the threads become striped. Tighten the fasteners of the MAP sensor 1 to 1.7 Nm (15 in. lbs.), connect its electrical connector and then go on to the next sensor. Add the brake booster hose to the intake manifold and secure the EGR tube in the same way, ensuring the hand tools are used gently so you don't damage the threads. Install connector 1 from the ETC to the throttle body and then add the EVAP hose to where it connects to the throttle body. Install the air cleaner and air inlet hose assembly and plug the end of the Inlet Air Temperature sensor's electrical connector into the IAT port. In the end, connect the black battery cable 3 and tighten the nut to reach 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
