The first step in installing the upper intake manifold is to inspect and clean the places where the gaskets will seal and then place a new gasket. Should installation require it, attach the
Throttle Body to the upper intake. After that, place the upper intake manifold and begin hand start all the attaching bolts. Begin by tightening the bolts tightly in the center, moving outward until you get 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) of torque. Fit the brackets at the front and rear of the intake manifold and then add the oil level indicator and oil fill tube to the intake manifold bolts. Insert the
EGR Tube and use vacuum lines to join the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Valve, EVAP Purge Solenoid and Power
Brake Booster. Set up the alternator support bracket and match the electrical cables to the Manifold Tuning Valve (MTV), Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR),
Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), Idle Air Control (IAC) and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP). Begin by installing the throttle body's ETC connector, followed by the air cleaner housing and inlet hose and finally the engine cover. Be sure to finally connect the negative battery cable as well.
