2009 Chrysler Town & Country Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Change an Oil Filter and Dispose of Used Oil Properly on 2009 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Follow the oil change suggestions in the Maintenance Schedule by both time and mileage. As engine oil can irritate your skin, limit or avoid skin exposure and thoroughly clean it with soap and water; avoid using gasoline, diesel fuel, thinner or solvents for the same reason. Take your engine oil waste to a properly run recycling service at a collection center. Get the engine working and when it warms up move the car onto a flat area and turn it off. Open the hood and take off the cap where oil is added. Support the vehicle with safety stands and drain stand beneath the vehicle's crankcase drain pipe. Take out the drain plug (1) from the crankcase, let the oil drain into the pan and examine the threads of the drain plug, changing them and the gasket if damaged. Take out the oil filter (2); then set and tighten the drain plug on the crankcase. Receive a new oil filter, wipe off the bottom of the vehicle, put in the amount and type of oil indicated in the manual and refit the oil fill cap. Start your engine after the inspection to see if anything is leaking and then stop it and check the oil amount. Used engine oil should be disposed of carefully when it is emptied from the engine.
