2009 Chrysler Town & Country Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix Oxygen Sensors on 2009 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Cool down the engine before servicing or repairing the oxygen sensors to avoid getting burned by the heated exhaust manifold, pipes and catalytic converter. You should use a removal tool for the oxygen sensor in the exhaust system plus the one on top of the catalytic converter. First, set the downstream oxygen sensor on the catalytic converter, tighten it to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) and join the O2 sensor pigtail harness to the engine wiring harness before clipping the O2S mounting clips to the body or engine if there are any. Replace the upstream oxygen sensor in the catalytic converter, secure it with 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) of force, hook the O2 sensor pigtail harness to the engine wiring harness and clip the O2S wire harness mounting clips to the engine or body where appropriate. The new oxygen sensors arrive from the factory with anti-seize compound on their threads and this can't be applied again. Clip or bolt the sensor pigtail harness in its proper place to avoid getting the wiring damaged by movement.
