How to Safely Detach a Hood Latch on 2009 Dodge Challenger?

To remove the hood latch, disconnect the battery negative cable and unsnap the left underhood cover. Mark the place of the latch then remove 2 screws holding it up. Disengage the release cable housing and cable ball end from the latch and finally, remove the latch from the vehicle.
