How to Remove the Front Upper Control Arm on 2009 Dodge Charger?

If the left upper control arm is what you are removing, take a moment to rearrange the coolant recovery container first. To remove the right upper control arm, disassemble the IPM from its place and move it to a new position. Remove the shock tower cover from the top of the shock tower if you have one. Take out the three shocks nuts and then unscrew the nuts from the upper control arms. Lift up the car and take off the bolts in the wheel mounting nuts, along with the tire and wheel assembly. Open the routing clip at the brake tube bracket where the wheel speed sensor cable is attached. Relax the nut screwed to the upper ball joint stud until it is even with the stud's tip, to prevent the knuckle from being bent during use of Special Tool 9360. Slide the Puller into position next to the ball joint seal boot on the knuckle and set it so the stud will separate from the joint. Pull the shock assembly down as you remove the nut from the top ball joint stud until the ball studs clear the shock tower and you can reach the upper control arm mounting screws. If your upper control arm is the faulty one, remove the link between the headlamp leveling sensor and the upper control arm. After that, take out the upper control arm mount bolts and remove the upper control arm from the shock tower.
