How to Remove the Front Upper Control Arm on Dodge Charger?

First, if you're on the left side, move the coolant recovery container to a new position. On the right, push the IPM away from the middle and place the mount back in focus. If your car has it, unscrew the shock tower cap at the top of the assembly. After that, take out the three nuts connecting the shock assembly to the shock tower along with the nuts holding the control arms up. Lift the vehicle and remove the nuts that hold down the wheel mount and the whole tire and wheel unit. Open the small cover next to the wheel's tube bracket and then unclip the wheel speed sensor cable. Take the nut between the upper ball joint stud and the knuckle and turn it out enough so that it is even with the end of the stud when you use Special Tool 9360. Slide the Puller into the place next to the ball joint seal boot to push apart the upper ball joint and the knuckle. Take the nut off the upper ball joint stud, then pull the shock assembly downward until the studs are clear of the shock tower so you can see the bolts holding the upper control arm. When working on the above control arms, disconnect the headlamp leveling sensor link from the upper control arm. At the last step, loosen the upper control arm mount bolts and remove the arm from the bracket in the shock tower.

How is a Control Arm Installed and Aligned with the Wheels on Dodge Charger?

First, put the compression link in place and mount the bolt and nut (1) on link (3) so it stays loose as it sits against the crossmember. Later, mount link (3) at the knuckle using bolt and nut (2), ensuring you do not tighten the screw yet. Following that, attach the tire and wheel assembly (1) and lock the wheel mounting nuts (3) to 150 Nm or 190 Nm for police models. Raise the car until you are able to access the link fasteners from above and then lock it into position on an alignment rack or drive-on lift. Tighten each compression link fastener at the crossmember to 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.) and each fastener at the knuckle to 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.). A wheel alignment should be done at the conclusion of your work.

The Control Arm of the Dodge Charger relates the vehicle's front wheel assemblies and the frame so that it may adequately suspend. First, if you're on the left side, move the coolant recovery container to a new position. On the right, push the IPM away from the middle and place the mount back in focus. If your car has it, unscrew the shock tower cap at the top of the assembly. After that, take out the three nuts connecting the shock assembly to the shock tower along with the nuts holding the control arms up. Lift the vehicle and remove the nuts that hold down the wheel mount and the whole tire and wheel unit. Open the small cover next to the wheel's tube bracket and then unclip the wheel speed sensor cable. Take the nut between the upper ball joint stud and the knuckle and turn it out enough so that it is even with the end of the stud when you use Special Tool 9360. Slide the Puller into the place next to the ball joint seal boot to push apart the upper ball joint and the knuckle. Take the nut off the upper ball joint stud, then pull the shock assembly downward until the studs are clear of the shock tower so you can see the bolts holding the upper control arm. When working on the above control arms, disconnect the headlamp leveling sensor link from the upper control arm. At the last step, loosen the upper control arm mount bolts and remove the arm from the bracket in the shock tower.

Tighten each compression link fastener at the crossmember to 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.) and each fastener at the knuckle to 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.).
