2009 Dodge Dakota Steering Column Cover Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Steering Column Cover on 2009 Dodge Dakota?
A: It is necessary to look at the warnings and cautions before removing the steering column opening cover. Take apart the end cap using a trim stick C-4755 or an equivalent tool. Pull back the release handle for the park brake, push in the clip at the end and unhook the rod. Loosen the two screws to release the back. Again, to remove the opening cover, separate upper retaining clips with a trim stick C-4755 or an equivalent and pull out the cover. Release the small tabs along the sides so that the diagnostic connector comes loose from the opening cover reinforcement. Unscrew the screws that hold the hood release handle to the opening reinforcement and release it from the metal frame. After that, take out the two screws and use either the trim stick C-4755 or its equivalent to split the upper retaining clips and remove the reinforcement cover.
