How to Service and Repair a Propeller Shaft with a Universal Joint in the Tube Yoke on 2009 Dodge Dakota?

Loosen the snap ring on the bearing cap on the propeller shaft by hitting the outside of it with a drift. Let the snap rings 1 sit aside, then put the yoke with the grease fitting facing up. Put a socket that the bearing cap fits into under the yoke and press it down lightly. Then place the yoke on a press using a socket that fits outside the bearing cap over the cap and press down to fit the lower cap through the yoke. If the bearing cap won't come out by hand after pressing, use a hammer to tap gently near the yoke where the bearing cap is. When you take off the bearing cap, flip over the yoke in the press and press on cross 1 which will straighten and let you remove bearing cap 2. Be careful not to allow the cross or bearing cap to tilt or slope while you remove them, as this will not hurt the yoke walls.
