  A: Before anything else, you need to remove the tire and wheel to get access to the ball joint. After that, remove the brake caliper and rotor from the vehicle. Use puller 8677 to take the tie rod off the steering knuckle. After that, use puller 8677 to take off the lower ball joint from the steering knuckle. Then, remove the steering knuckle and, for 4X4 vehicles, move the half shaft over and support it off to the side. Sharpen the ball joint stakes and while you do this, lubricate the threads heavily to make sure the tool lasts and works well during each use. Press the joint fixation from the lower control arm by using tools C-4212F (PRESS), 9333-1 (Driver) and 9333-2 (Receiver).
