2009 Dodge Durango Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Oil Pan from an Engine on 2009 Dodge Durango?
A: Make sure to remove the battery's negative cable and get rid of the coolant before getting ready to remove the engine oil pan. Now, take out the radiator fan and the intake manifold. Install Engine Support 8534B now, avoiding raising the engine for the time being and then hoist the car once the support is in place. Unlock the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifolds and remove the cover plate following the sheet's instructions. Drain the oil until it is almost empty, pull the oil filter out and set the jack beneath the engine. Take out the bolts (1), (3) found on the left and right side engine mounts and lift the engine to help with oil pan removal. Insert little blocks between the engine brackets and lower mounts to improve the stability of the car. Do not unscrew the oil pan or gasket, because the gasket stays attached to the engine. Then, undo the oil pan's mounting bolts, remove the pan and unbolt the oil pump pickup tube to take out the gaskets beneath.
