2008 Dodge Durango Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to remove an oil pan on 2008 Dodge Durango?
A: Before getting rid of the engine oil pan, first disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the cooling system. After that, get rid of the radiator fan and the intake manifold. Install Engine Support 8534 without lifting the engine up now and then hoist the car afterward. Separate the exhaust pipe from the manifolds and take off the metal hood as directed. Blow off the engine oil and remove the filter, then put a jack under the engine. Remove the bolts in positions 1 and 3 holding both left and right engine mounts, then lift the engine to make space to pull the oil pan. Bolt wood blocks in between the engine brackets and lower mounts to help them stay still. Don't disturb the oil pan or gasket, as they are bonded and will not come apart. After that, change the oil pan bolts, remove the oil pan and take out the oil pump pickup tube to take off the oil pan gasket.
