After that, disconnect the master cylinder and cut the vacuum hose from the check valve on the booster face, but leave the check valve alone. Should the vehicle feature adjustable pedals, remove the wiring from behind the stop lamp switch, turn it clockwise so the retaining tabs slide into the bracket slot and discard the switch; during reassembly, be sure to use a new one. If your pedals are not adjustable, use the same steps to remove the wiring connector and the switch. Then, with the brake partially depressed, place a small screwdriver over the center tang of the retaining clip and turn it to allow the clip to move over the pin; take out the clip and insert a new one there when you assemble the brake.
