  A: Before servicing or repairing the power brake booster, push the driver's seat all the way back and remove the battery. Always release the vacuum by pumping the brake a few times without the engine before taking out the master cylinder to contamination. Following this, separate the master cylinder from the car and disconnect the vacuum hose from the check valve on the face of the booster; do not remove the valve. If the vehicle has adjustable pedals, open the electrical connector at the switch, twist the switch clockwise until the retaining tabs fit into the slot in the bracket and then remove everything.
