  A: Before you work on the power steering pump for a 3.3L/3.8L engine, first take off the negative battery cable and isolate it. After that, detach the lid of the power steering fluid tank and suck out as much liquid as possible with a siphon pump. Unclip the clamp and then take out the supply hose from the pump. Take off the pressure hose from the pump by turning the tube nut counterclockwise. Take out the accessory drive belt and then remove the three pump mounting bolts found through the pump pulley. Afterward, take the pump out of the area under the hood. If the pulley needs to be removed, use the proper steps.
