2009 Dodge Grand Caravan Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End for Inner on 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: First, take out the outer tie rod and then remove the tie rod jam nut on the inner tie rod. For the proper inner tie rod, remove the screws and push-pins that hold the heat shield over the right part of the steering gear, then lift the heat shield off the steering gear bellows. After that, pull out the clamps securing the bellows to the inner tie rod and the steering gear body. Then, you can take off the bellows. Make sure you install the needed tool for removing inner tie rods onto the inner tie rod hex. If you cannot get rid of the inner tie rod using the tools listed, never try to hit or heat the rod, as this can break the steering gear and require replacing the whole steering gear. Remove the inner tie rod by unthreading it and taking it out.
