How to Remove and Replace a Shock Absorber with Third Row Seating on 2009 Dodge Journey?

You have to first unfasten and eliminate the quarter panel in the rear space to exchange the suspension strut with a third row seat. Pull back the insulation to find the upper mounting nuts securing the shock assembly, remove both of these nuts from the body bracket. Lift up the vehicle, remove the wheel mounting nuts and the rear tire and wheel assembly comes off. If you have load-leveling shocks, put a jack under the lower shock, but apply only enough force to let you remove the shock mounting bolt. When the lower shock mount bolts are loose, pull out and lower the shock assembly out of the body bracket, then lift it over the rear suspension.
