How to Remove a Shift Cable on 2009 Dodge Nitro?

First, change the transmission into PARK and then lift the vehicle for the shift cable to slide out on its own. After that, disconnect the shift cable eyelet from the transmission manual shift lever and take out the shift cable from the support bracket. Once you've lowered the vehicle, remove the right console panel to take out the main parts of the shift lever assembly and shift cable. Open the shift cable at the shift lever and shifter bracket and remove the bolts at the shift cable seal plate on the floor pan. After that, place the cable through the opening in the floor and remove it from the car.
