How to Service the Air Bag Control Module on 2009 Dodge Ram 1500?

To start working on the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC), first turn off the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) by disconnecting the negative battery cable, isolating it and waiting two minutes to let the system capacitor discharge. Do not slam or let anything drop the ORC, because it may damage the impact sensor and call for a module exchange. open the ORC by removing its cover. After that, pull the connector away by sliding the red lock to the side, depressing the side of the lock closest to the ORC and releasing the connector latch tab. After taking out the connectors, undo the three nuts that secure the ORC to the mount studs inside the tunnel. After that, remove the ORC from the mount.
