How to Safely Service and Install an Air Bag Sensor on 2009 Dodge Ram 1500?

Before working on the front impact sensor, turn off the SRS and unplug the negative cable from the battery, waiting two minutes so the system capacitor empties. Treat the front impact sensor gently to prevent both physical and calibration issues; a dropped sensor should be exchanged for a new one. Install the right front impact sensor or the left front impact sensor onto the back of the right end of the lower radiator crossmember or the left end, making sure the anti-rotation pin is all the way in the crossmember's clearance hole. When the sensor is in the flange, tighten and secure it by screwing (2) to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.). Reattach the FEM (1) wire harness connector (4) to the sensor connector receptacle, however, do not link the battery negative wire until all SRS component servicing is completed and an SRS verification is carried out.
