2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Brake Line Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace the Rear Brake Line on 2009 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Place the brake line properly and attach the brake hose retainer clip bolt fixed to the frame at 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). After that, use two new washers and tighten the banjo bolt to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Route the antilock sensor harness into the white holder and note that the right brake line has three push type retainers while the left has one. Install the brake line retainer clip(s) and place the connector onto the end of that frame junction block, fastening it by hand until it reaches 19 Nm (169 in. lbs.). After you're done with the supports, let the vehicle down and remove the prop rod from the brake pedal. In the end, the repair area has to be bled; if the expected pedal feel is not felt after bleeding, a base bleed system must be performed.
