2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Crankshaft Seal Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove a Front Crankshaft Seal on 2009 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: The first step is to remove the negative cable connected to the battery before removing the front crankshaft seal. After that, take out the accessory drive belt. After you remove the bulbs and bending strip, get rid of the A/C compressor mounting bolts and put the compressor aside. Drain your cooling system and get the upper radiator hose off the car. Take the electrical connector out of the fan by the radiator shroud and remove all the fasteners holding the shroud in place, since the transmission cooler line is pulled into the shroud in its right-hand corner. Then, remove the radiator cooling fan and its shroud. Take off the crankshaft damper bolt and, using Crankshaft Insert 8513A and 1023 Three Jaw Puller, remove the damper. In the end, apply Crankshaft Front Seal Remover 8511 to help you remove the crankshaft front seal.
