2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Oil Filter on 2009 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Removing and installing the specified high-quality, disposable, full-flow oil filter should be done with a Mopar(R) filter or an equivalent. First, place a drain pan underneath the oil filter. Loosen the filter with an appropriate sized oil filter wrench. Once the oil filter is loosen, take it off and lift the gasket end upwards when it detaches from the cylinder block oil filter boss to reduce oil leakage. After removing the filter, look to make sure the gasket was also removed. Next, wipe the gasket sealing surface to remove any oil and dirt with a wiping cloth.
