How Are Coil Springs Installed on 2009 Dodge Ram 3500?

Put the isolator pad on top of the coil spring and position the assembly in the lower arm of the suspension until it seats well. To use the Spring Compressor DD-1278, pass it through the lower arm, coil spring and shock hole in the frame, then tighten the nut. Then, setup the steering knuckle and screw on the upper ball joint using the retaining nut, tightening it to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.). Following removal of the spring compressor tool, hold the lower control arm at its outboard side to help support the car. Take the time to mount the shock absorber and stabilizer link. As soon as the mounting components are ready, unhook the bottom control arm support, slide in the wheel and tire assembly and pull the vehicle down onto the ground. When the vehicle is level, be sure the weight is secure, tighten both the front and rear control arm frame pivot bolts to 210 ft. lbs. and finish by doing a wheel alignment.
