2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Steering Knuckle Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Steering Knuckle on 2009 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: To work on the steering knuckle, first lift the car and put it on jack stands and then remove the wheel and tire. Afterwards, you should unsure the brake caliper, rotor, shield and ABS wheel speed sensor from the wheel, if one is installed. Take out the nut from the tie rod end and use Remover 9360 to break the connection between the tie rod and knuckle. Take out the upper ball joint nut and use Remover 9360 to separate the ball joint from the knuckle, being sure not to damage the ball joint seal when working with puller 8677. Later, take out the lower ball joint nut and separate the ball joint from the knuckle using puller 8677 and finally remove the knuckle. In the end, take out the hub/bearing from the steering knuckle.
