To get rid of the power steering pump, the fluid should be drained and the serpentine belt should be removed. Avoid unscrewing the high pressure hose fitting. Disconnect the return and pressure hoses and access the bolts holding the pump to the cylinder head through the pulley holes and remove the three bolts.
