2009 Dodge Viper Air Bag Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Remove a Deployed Air Bag on 2009 Dodge Viper?
A: It is necessary to protect your hands, eyes and body with long sleeves when taking out a deployed air bag. Pull back the deck lid and unfasten the battery cover with the four bolts underneath. After cutting the negative cable on the battery, wait for about two minutes so that the system reserve capacitor discharges before you service any air bag components. Three bolts on top of the Driver air bag (DAB) should be removed; lift the air bag from the steering wheel and take apart the main connecting wires. After that, take out the DAB from the car, as the Clock Spring should always be replaced when attaching a new DAB.
