How to Safely Detach a Drive Shaft on 2009 Jeep Liberty?

First, put the vehicle into neutral and have it raised on a hoist before removing the drive shaft. Set a line at the end of the axle flange and the propeller shaft flange for the correct position of the engine. In addition, put a reference line on the transmission/transfer case flange and the propeller shaft flange. After that, disconnect the propeller shaft flange bolts from the axle flange and then remove the propeller shaft flange bolts from the transmission/transfer case flange. Also, remove the propeller shaft from the shaft seal.
