• Q: How to Install a Fuel Rail on a 3.7L Engine on 2009 Jeep Liberty?

  A: Before installing the fuel rail, confirm that the fuel injectors are all set. Remove any debris from the fuel injector machined bores on the intake manifold and then smear a bit of engine oil onto each fuel injector O-ring. Lay the fuel rail/fuel injector unit over the machined openings in the cylinder head and carefully insert each injector into its place, without harming the O-rings. Press the right side of the fuel rail until the injectors connect with the rear shoulder of the cylinder head, then repeat this on the left hand side. Put in and tighten the four fuel rail mounting bolts with a torque wrench until they read 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.). Following this, put in the six ignition coils and attach the electrical wires to the throttle body. Tie all of the fuel injectors together by gently inserting the connector into injector (1) and locking red slider (2). Join the vacuum/vapor pipes to the throttle body and bind both the clip and the fuel line to the fuel rail. Attach the air box to the throttle body and then add the air duct to the air box. Link the battery cable to the battery and then start the engine and search for leaks.
