2008 Jeep Liberty Fuel Rail Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the Fuel Rail Installed on a 3.7L Engine on 2008 Jeep Liberty?
A: Check that the fuel injectors are in place before putting the fuel rail onto a 3.7L engine. Clean out the fuel injector holes in the intake manifold and smear some oil on every fuel injector O-ring before you insert them. Position the fuel rail or fuel injector assembly so that the injectors go in the machined holes in the cylinder head, taking care not to harm the O-rings. Pull or push down forcefully on the right side of the rail to set the injector over the cylinder head shoulder and repeat for the left injector. Bolt the fuel rail in place using four bolts that you should tighten to a torque of 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.). Following that, add six ignition coils, plug in the electrical connectors to the throttle body and all fuel injectors and pull on them to make certain they are properly shoved in place. Take the vacuum/vapor lines, attach them to the throttle body, bolt the fuel line latch clip and fuel line to the fuel rail and finally place the air box on the throttle body and the air duct on the air box. After that, connect the battery cable and check for any leaks after engine start-up.
