How to Remove an Ignition Lock Cylinder for Service and Repair on 2009 Jeep Liberty?

Before taking out the ignition lock cylinder, place the key inside the key cylinder. First, take out the negative wire from the battery. After that, lift up the upper cover and the lower cover from the steering column and put the shifter into PARK. A retaining pin is found on the back of the key cylinder assembly. Put the key into the RUN position and while doing so, pull the cylinder from the ignition switch after pushing in on the retaining pin.
