How to Service and Repair a Dimmer Switch for Fog/Driving Lamps on 2009 Jeep Liberty?

Start by unhooking and separating the negative battery cable to turn off the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and wait two minutes while the air bag capacitor empties its charge. Open up the steering column by taking off both the top and bottom shrouds. After that, separate the wire connector on the panel from the back of the multi-function switch on the left. Take out the screw that is holding the left multi-function switch to the Clock Spring bracket on the left. Slide the switch opposite the Clock Spring to separate the slide tabs from the shaped openings in the mount. Remove the jumper wire harness from the connector on the inboard end of the left multi-function switch and unmount the switch from the Clock Spring afterward.
