How to Service and Repair Trunk Lid Lift Support for Flip-Up Glass on 2009 Jeep Liberty?

To service the trunk or liftgate shock support, do not remove the support rods while the glass is closed in order to avoid injury or damage. Make sure retaining clips are seated in the ball socket then seat the support cylinder over the ball studs, connecting it to the glass and fixing the clips in place.
