How to Maintain and Fix a Hood Latch on 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Before servicing or repairing the hood latch, open and support the hood. Use a grease pencil or optional device to show where the hood latch belongs on the upper radiator support so you'll remember during reassembly. After that, take out the two stud bolts supporting the hood latch to the radiator. Then, take off the hood latch to get to the hood latch release cable. After that, separate the cable housing from the latch, unlink the cable ball from the lever and take out the latch.
