How to Maintain and Fix a Liftgate Hinge on 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Before you can access the trunk or liftgate hinge, please release its latch and carefully lift the liftgate. After that, detach any trim pieces from the side of the car and fold down the headliner at the back to locate the bolts for the liftgate hinge. Set a reliable lifting device under the open liftgate while working on the side of the vehicle you are servicing. Secure your roof flap in place by placing duct tape along the smooth sides of the roof all the way to the liftgate. Now, take out the two bolts attaching the liftgate hinge to the liftgate and the three bolts linking the hinge to the roof header before you move the hinge.
