How to Service and Repair Trunk Lid Lift Support on 2010 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

To work on the trunk or liftgate shock support, first lift the liftgate to its open position and secure it with a support system. Once the panel is secured, take out pivot bolt 2 attaching each support rod 3 to the liftgate opening and pivot bolt 3 securing the rods to the liftgate 1.
