Place the exhaust camshaft on the bearing journals in the head and have its timing mark line up with the cylinder head cover surface. Adjust the rear of the intake cam, insert the sprocket into the chain and line up the timing marks on the intake cam sprocket with the painted chain link before you set it into the journals. Make sure that the timing marks on the camshafts are in the same position and that they point toward one another over the cylinder head cover.
