2010 Dodge Challenger Air Bag Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace a Deployed or Non-Deployed Passenger Air Bag on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
A: In a deployed passenger air bag, you need to change the top pad on the instrument panel. First, open the hood and detach the cable bringing the negative terminal to the battery. Wait at least two minutes to let the air bag system reserve capacitor discharge so the air bags won't accidentally go off and might hurt you. Take out the instrument panel and remove the electrical connector from the passenger air bag (3). Remove the four screws from the left and right of the passenger's seat and the two bolts underneath it next. Take the passenger air bag away from the instrument panel, look over all usable pieces and put them on the new instrument panel top pad. Remove all the powder inside the vehicle. If an aircraft does not deploy the passenger air bag, first break the connection of the battery's negative cable and wait two minutes. Eliminate the silencer pad on the right and disassemble the glove box assembly. The next step is to remove the two screws below the distribution duct, just to the left of the distribution housing (2), then remove the other two below the distribution duct (1). Disconnect the passenger air bag electrical connector (3) and remove the two bolts (2) that hold the passenger air bag assembly to the cross car beam. After that, work the passenger air bag down to remove any things that may prevent you from pulling it out.
