2010 Dodge Challenger Alternator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install an Alternator on a 3.5L Engine on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
A: Install the alternator by placing it beside your 3.5L engine and loose the lower mounting bolts temporarily. After that, set the bracket in place and loosely fasten the upper generator mounting bolt as well as the bracket bolt. Tighten the bolts in the generator mounting to 65 Nm and secure the generator bracket with 54 Nm of force. Screw the field wire connector to the generator, then install the B+ terminal and turn its nut on the generator mounting stud to 13 Nm. Pull the plastic protective cover and place it over the B+ terminal. Attach the transmission cooler line to the correct position and put the transmission cooler line clamp bolt on the right cross member. Put in the middle splash shield and lower the vehicle onto the ground. While connecting the serpentine belt, place it properly so the water pump doesn't turn the wrong direction which can make the engine overheat. Attach the drive belt along with the negative battery cable and tighten the nut with 5 Nm.
