2010 Dodge Challenger Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Oil Pan from an Engine on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
A: The first step is to isolate the negative side of the battery by taking the cable off and the second step is to lock the steering wheel in the middle. Next, unscrew generator bracket bolt 3, loosen uppermost generator mounting bolt 2 and move generator bracket 4. Use a socket or wrench to remove use bolt 1 and get rid of the indicator tube 2. Elevate and support the vehicle and after that, take out the belly pan. Remove the engine oil and then get rid of the oil filter 3. Should the vehicle be equipped, remove the oil cooler mounting stud and arrange the oil cooler 1 elsewhere. Unhook steering column coupler 1 from steering gear 3 by loosening bolt 4 and later detach steering gear 3 from the cradle by removing its cradle mounting bolts. Start by taking out the four bolts 1 that connect the oil pan 2 to the transmission 3, then deal with the flex plate access cover 1 and the rear oil pan bolts 3. Afterwards, remove the last two bolts and three nuts, be careful a small amount of oil will be left in the oil pan and pull out the oil pan and clean all the connections.
