2009 Dodge Challenger Oil Pan Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Oil Pan on 2009 Dodge Challenger?
A: Before removing the engine oil pan, pull the negative battery cable out and secure the steering wheel straight. After that, remove bolt (3) from the generator bracket, loosen bolt (2) at the very top and shift the generator bracket into the new position (4). Unscrew the bolt and get rid of the indicator tube. Raise and hold the car steady and after that remove the belly pan. Remove both the engine oil and the oil filter (3). Should the engine have an oil cooler, remove the attachment stud and move the oil cooler (1). Withdraw the pinch bolt (4) from both parts to take the steering column coupler (1) out of the steering gear (3). After taking off the steering gear, adjust the original steering gear location (3). Take off the four transmission-to-oil pan bolts (1), the cover on the flex plate (1) and the two rear oil pan bolts (3). Because there is some oil in the pan, go carefully when removing the last two bolts (2) and nuts (3) from the oil pan. Next, take out the oil pan (1) and carefully clean every surface that fits together.
