2010 Dodge Grand Caravan A/C Accumulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install the Front A/C Accumulator on 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: Make sure to check and adjust the refrigerant oil level before fitting the accumulator on the A/C system or A/C malfunction and damage to the compressor may occur. When there is an issue with your A/C compressor, the replacement of the accumulator is necessary to stop further damage. To choose the right amount of oil when replacing several components, look at the chart for Refrigerant Oil Capacities. If only the A/C accumulator is undergoing replacement, use 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the right refrigerant oil in the system. Always make sure to install fresh O-ring seals and gaskets on the refrigerant lines after they have been removed. Install the A/C accumulator (part number 4) in the engine compartment and hold it in place with bolt (part number 3). After that, tighten the bolt with 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.) of torque. Fasten the front and rear segments of the A/C liquid line (numbers 1 and 2) to the accumulator with new O-ring seals, making sure not to overtighten them, since 13.5 Nm (120 in. lbs.) is the maximum tightness you should reach. After that, place the air cleaner back into its housing and join the negative cable to the battery. Choose the correct refrigerant based on the needs of your system, remove and then replace the necessary parts in the refrigerant pumping system and replace the refrigerant oil as you see fit.
