2010 Dodge Grand Caravan A/C Expansion Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Expansion Valve on 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan?
A: You should begin by recovering the refrigerant to service or repair the rear A/C expansion valve. Raise the vehicle, then get the nuts loose so the underbody refrigerant lines can be separated from the underbody refrigerant extension lines behind the right rear wheel housing. Take the underbody refrigerant tubes off the extension lines and get rid of the O-ring seals. Following this, take out the nut holding the underbody refrigerant extension lines and sealing plate to the rear A/C expansion valve. Improperly connected smaller lines should be disconnected from the back A/C expansion valve and then the O-ring seals on them should be removed and discarded. Five bolts hold the rear A/C expansion valve to the rear A/C evaporator. Remove the first two of these. In the end, take out the rear A/C expansion valve from the rear A/C evaporator and throw out the O-ring seals. Always put plugs in or tape over the ports on the underbody refrigerant line and on the expansion and rear evaporator valves.
