How to Remove an Automatic Transmission Shifter on 2010 Jeep Liberty?

Before removing the transmission shifter, remove any parts inside the console that get in the way of reaching the shifter assembly and cables. Park the transmission before every trip. After that, get rid of the shift cable connections at the lever and bracket assembly site. Lock the car's ignition into the LOCK position and remove the interlock cable from both the shifter lever and the shifter assembly bracket. After that, take out all the wires from the shifter assembly. Then, unscrew all nuts that hold the shifter assembly to the car and lift the assembly out of the vehicle after that.
