2010 Jeep Wrangler Air Bag Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Install a New Air Bag for Passengers on 2010 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Start by turning off the Srs by removing the battery negative cable; wait two minutes for the capacitor to drain before installing the passenger air bag. Do not let anything foreign get into the Passenger air bag (Pab) or trap between it and the door and Never paint the Pab door, as this may prevent deployment. Set the passenger air bag and air bag door together into the opening in the instrument panel base trim. Plug the two ends of the larger, orange connector back into the air bag inflator receptacles so that each end is seated properly. Slide the passenger air bag carefully forward until the upper stud on the windshield fence line connects with the nut and the lower studs seat in their holes in the instrument panel armature. Hold the lower studs with the nuts and then tighten each nut to 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.). Slide the air bag door for the passenger forward and downward until the snap features are completely in the bottom of the trim panel. Fix the grab handle and glove box into their places on the instrument panel. Secure the upper bracket bracket nut to the stud by the windshield with a torque wrench of 6 Nm (55 in. lbs.) and then replace the trim plug into the hole in the top of the instrument panel. The negative cable from the battery should not be connected again until an Srs verification test is carried out after changing any Srs system part.
