2010 Jeep Wrangler Air Bag Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Ensure Safety and Proper Functionality When Servicing an Air Bag Sensor on 2010 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before servicing the front impact sensor, disable the SRS by looping the negative end of the car's battery cable, then allow two minutes for the system to reset. If you handle your vehicle roughly, you might accidentally drop or hit the front impact sensor; be sure to install a new unit if this happens to ensure all safety systems are deployed correctly in front. These sensors are able to be installed on either the front or side of the car. Take out the screw that holds the impact sensor to the back of the front end module carrier near the right or left headlamp. After that, unplug the engine compartment wire harness connector from the front impact sensor's connector in the engine compartment and remove the front impact sensor.
