Q: How to Install an Engine Mount for Manual and Automatic Transmissions on 2010 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Before you install either the manual or automatic transmission engine mount, set the skid plate on the studs and tighten the nuts with a torque wrench to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). After that, put the skid plate bolts into the sill and tighten them to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.) of torque. Before connecting the negative cable, take out the transmission support and get the vehicle off the jacks. Following that, put together the transmission mount bracket, connect it to the transmission and tighten the bolts at 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) of torque. For the automatic transmission, attach the support cushion to the bracket of the transmission mount and use nuts, tightening them by 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Should the support cushion bracket not be already on the skid plate, place it there and use a torque wrench to tighten each nut to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
