2010 Jeep Wrangler Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Intake Manifold for Upper on 2010 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Start by cleaning the gasket areas of the upper intake manifold and then taking off the covers from the lower intake manifold ports. Look at the intake manifold gasket to make sure it is not torn or cracked; a good gasket can be used again. Slide the intake manifold gaskets into the open channels and press them into the area gently, next place the upper intake manifold snugly on the lower intake manifold. Treat every upper intake manifold bolt with Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive (Medium Strength Threadlocker) and tighten them in the correct order to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). Keep the PCV hose connected to the upper intake manifold and the power brake booster hose overlapping at the intake manifold's rear side. When removing, install the MAP sensor at the rear of the intake manifold by pushing it down as you turn it 1/4 turn clockwise and join the MAP sensor connector to its power source. The EGR tube is fastened to the manifold with hand tools because using automatic tools can melt the material; if threads become stripped, an oversize repair screw needs to be used. Slide the EGR tube onto the bracket, join the EVAP hose to the throttle body and attach the electrical connector to the throttle body. Place the air cleaner and the rest of the air inlet hose assembly, link the electrical plug for the inlet air temperature sensor and tighten the battery cable bolt to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
