2009 Jeep Wrangler Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace an Intake Manifold for Upper on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
A: First, eliminate the cover from the lower intake manifold and then wipe the portion that touches the gasket before you replace the upper intake manifold. Inspect the condition of the manifold gasket carefully; if it's not damaged, you can reuse it. Place the gasket in the seal channel and press down gently for every place where a gasket should be put. After that, place the upper manifold onto the lower manifold. Glue Mopar(R) Lock & Seal Adhesive (Medium Strength Threadlocker) to every bolt on the upper intake manifold and install and tighten every bolt up to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) in sequence. You should screw the parts for the composite manifold together with your hands to avoid breaking the thread and with new, replacement screws available if one beaks. Fix the MAP sensor in place and tighten its fasteners to 1.7 Nm (15 in. lbs.), then attach the MAP sensor's electrical plug. Just as for the thermostat, slowly use hand tools to install the EGR tube's special screws so the threads don't become damaged. Attach the throttle (ETC) connector to the throttle body and then attach the EVAP hose and PCV hose. Install the air cleaner and air inlet hose assembly and after that, link the IAT sensor's electrical connector. After that, fasten the nut on the negative battery cable firmly using 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.).
