For five-passenger vehicles, begin by opening the hood, then take out the negative
Battery Cable's remote terminal at the remote battery post. Take off the Instrument Panel before you work on a Concorde. Slightly loosen a screw on the shift knob and two more on the shifter bezel, then pull out the power outlet connector and take the bezel out of the car. Pull the left endcap off the instrumental panel over the junction block and remove the two screws under the steering column before pulling the steering panel toward the back of the car to pop off the clips. Go to the front and, using the door handle, open the
Glove Box door. Once it's down, you'll see that the screws are both at the upper and lower left corners of the bin. Pull the right side panel and then the left panel loose by removing the two screws. After you expose the ORC, push out the red CPA tab, apply pressure to the latch and pull the ORC connector off. Undo the two side screws on the driver's side module, loosen the top screw and pull out the ORC; if you can't, loosen one of the side screws on the passenger side. Take out the ORC from the car. While installing, set the arrow on the ORC facing forward on the mounting bracket, line up its mounting bosses and attach the ORC to the bracket with the three screws, tightening them to 88 to 124 in. lbs. (10 to 14 Nm). Twist the screw at the top on the driver's side, attach the two side module mounting screws, use the ORC 23-way connector and push in the red CPA tab. When using a Concorde, replace the Instrument Panel. Then, put the left console side panel in place using two retaining screws and finally add the right console side panel as well. Insert the screws into the upper left and lower left corners of the glove box bin, shut the glove box door and set the steering column cover with its two nuts. Put the left instrument panel end cover in place, connect the power outlet connector and add the center bezel to the car. Lastly, add the two screws to the shifter bezel and attach the shift knob with one screw. Connecting the battery negative cable remote terminal before diagnosing and testing the air bag system is not safe.
